Case Study 2SituationThe training and sales support division of a national financial services company was growing in order to keep up with increased demand for participation in projects required to support their 3000+ sales and operation customers, located in 200 branches across the United States. As the need to react to change increased, so did the number of projects in which this organization found itself participating.
Challenge The goal was to train and mentor the training & sales support organization staff in solid project management knowledge, processes, and skills to allow them to effectively service their customers. They would be able to get more projects done on-time, within-budget, and according to specifications, while maintaining their high customer satisfaction ratings. In addition, the training and sales support division required the development of leadership and relationship management skills that are critical to the project management environment. As their involvement in strategic projects increased, the organization required more leaders to represent their customers in the large strategic projects.
Solution
MyProjectAdvisor met with management team members to determine which essential project management knowledge, skills, and behaviors were required for their particular projects. MyProjectAdvisor created a customized Project Management for Stakeholders Workshop within a few days to deliver at an organization off-site meeting. MyProjectAdvisor developed the training and sales support organization staff, enabling them to successfully increase the number of projects being completed on-time, on-budget, and with increased quality levels, thereby improving customer satisfaction. MyProjectAdvisor trained team members in effective project management methodology and processes, as well as how to develop trust-based relationships with customers, other project team leaders, and their peers. Key reporting metrics used to measure success for their projects, resource utilization, and customer satisfaction showed dramatic improvement after the workshops. Participants were able to immediately begin applying the tools and new competency skills in their jobs. Participants are excelling by improving their project management skills within the organization, taking on more responsibilities and achieving repeated successes. They are getting more out of their projects and enjoying greater job satisfaction.
